TOKINOHA is a pottery studio based in Kiyomizu, Kyoto, creating tableware that gracefully integrates into daily life. This side table harmonizes a striking Kiyomizu-style ceramic tabletop—finished in TOKINOHA’s signature luminous glaze—with a powerful solid wood cylindrical base by WYLC. Bringing together two distinct materials, both brands have joined their shared passion for craftsmanship to create a truly special art piece.
Its greatest charm lies in the seamless gradation of textures, allowing the two materials to blend effortlessly. By subtly leaving the unglazed earthenware exposed along the rim, the raw clay serves as a quiet bridge connecting the tone of the ceramic to the natural warmth of the wood. Furthermore, the surface of the wooden base features delicate hand-planed textures, evoking a subtle interplay of light and shadow alongside a soft, tactile touch.
This is furniture that does not reach completion the moment it is made; rather, it evolves and deepens in affection through daily living. Placed beside a sofa or in a quiet corner of a room, it brings a deep sense of serenity and refined luxury to everyday moments.
